All Kriega metal engineered parts are made from 6061-T6 aircraft grade, hardened aluminium alloy and the US-Hook Straps are no exception providing dependable strength where its needed.
The main waterproof compartment has a lightweight taped-seam liner held in place with a hook & loop strips. Easily removable for cleaning and white in colour to help with locating kit at the bottom of the pack.
Base anti-slip mesh also doubles as a pocket to store the shoulder and waist straps when the US-10 is attached to the bike. The shoulder strap connects to the large D-rings at each end of the pack and the waist strap connects to 2 fold away buckles at the corners of the mesh-pocket.
The US-10 uses the latest generation of fitting straps - the US-Hook straps. These are an extra secure subframe fitting kit which allows tailpack combinations of up to 40-litres. Easy on/off the bike with no loose straps left on the bike. Custom 6061-T6 alloy hooks attach to four discreet web loops located on the frame of the bike. Fitting method is particularly suitable for traditional one-piece seats and bolt-on seat pads/racks. US-packs can be mounted inline or across the seat.
The US-10 tailpack is designed to fit most race-rep style pillion pads or regular single seats (attachment straps included). The pack is easily attached/removed by 4 x quick-release buckles. No extra bungees or rain covers are needed.
To fit using the supplied hook straps remove bike seat and locate the best mounting areas on the rear subframe. It may be necessary to slot the internal plastic tray if no subframe metalwork is exposed. Attach the 4x 20mm web loops securely to high strength areas of the frame. The 20mm loops are adjustable in length. Refit the seat with the web loops poking out from underneath and complete any necessary final adjustments of the straps.
Ensure the web is threaded back through the adjuster to lock-off the webbing (i.e. threaded through the plastic buckle three times). To fit the US-pack, hook the alloy hooks through the now installed web loops, place the pack on the seat and connect the top quick-release buckles and tension them and the bag on to the bike. Always use the 2 x strap keepers on the web to manage the loose ends. Please also ensure that the quick-release buckles are correctly 'clicked' home. With the Hook strap mounting system, the optional connector straps are not required.
NB - Some bikes already have web loops attached to the seat-pad/base. In this case we still recommend the fitting of the Kriega loops, as fitting to the subframe is far stronger than to the seat.
SUBFRAME LOOPS are supplied with all US Drypacks which work perfectly for most bikes, however some of the latest bikes do not have a visible subframe to mount them to. Therefore Kriega have produced a range of fitting kits to provide hook-on points for the following bikes:

For bikes with a clearly visible metal subframe the 4 x Subframe Loops can simply be attached anywhere along the frame to suit and the seat replaced.

For bikes where only 2 x Subframe Loops can be attached to the frame, the other 2 loops can be combined together to form a single strap with a loop at each end, this is secured under the rear pillion seat.

For bikes with an external frame / rack 2 x Subframe Loops can be attached to the frame, the other 2 loops can be combined together to form a ‘double loop’ strap this can be secured under the rear pillion seat.
